Thomas R. Lohmann - President

Tom has more than 34 years of experience in real estate finance, commercial real estate development and commercial property management. In 1986, he founded Pinehurst Properties, Inc. and developed the company’s first urban infill project, which was located in St. Paul. Over the next two decades, he continued to focus on urban infill projects, navigating the complicated municipal approvals, financing, leasing and management they typically involve. Over the years, Tom has received numerous industry awards, including the prestigious National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP) Development of the Year award from the Minnesota Chapter of the NAIOP.

Before founding Pinehurst Properties, Tom worked for the Turner Development Company for four years, during which he oversaw the construction, financials and management of developments totaling more than $50 million. Prior, he held positions in real estate and investment banking with Washington National Insurance Co. and RBC Wealth Management (formerly RBC Dain Rauscher). Tom has been involved with NAIOP for over thirty years serving in most committee chair and officer positions. On several occasions Tom has participated in panel programs and addressed the membership on case studies. In 2004, Tom Lohmann founded Pinehurst Bank, a community bank located in St. Paul’s Highland Park neighborhood. He arranged for the bank’s capitalization of $8.2 million through 75 individual shareholders. The bank has grown to have over $60 million in assets and has twelve employees. Tom continues to be chairman of the board and is active in overseeing the bank’s activities.  Tom is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, with a degree in Business Administration–Management. He and his wife, Kay, have five grown children and live in Edina, Minnesota.
Laura M. Steffes - Property and Asset Manager

Laura has more than 17 years of property management experience. She joined Pinehurst Properties in 2004 and oversees all of the company’s property management operations. In addition, she is a certified property manager (CPM) with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), where she also serves as an executive councilor. Plus, Laura serves on the Board of Directors for the 50th & France Business & Professional Association and holds a real estate broker’s license. Laura began working in property management in 1992 with the management of residential properties. This led her to multi-site residential management and eventually to the commercial industry. Laura is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Psychology degree and lives in Eagan, Minnesota.
David P. Spicer - Maintenance Technician

David has more than 16 years of experience in facilities management. He performs the day-to-day maintenance operations of each building that Pinehurst Properties manages. David is a graduate of Hennepin Technical College with a degree in carpentry. He, his wife and two sons live in New Hope, Minnesota.
